We thank the attendees of the 2025 pop up museum that was open from October 16 to December 19. We shared a bit of the magic of Jose’s inspiring story and helped celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the International Court System which he founded.
What’s next for the Pride Museum? We hope to one day open a permanent museum celebrating our community in Palm Springs, but funding is always the barrier. Until then we have plans for more pop up museum displays. Watch this space for more info.

Walk of Stars Plaque
The Walk of Stars plaque was dedicated on Dec 12, 2022 on Jose’s 100th birthday. It’s located on the corner of the downtown park adjacent to the Forever Marilyn statue.
The Jose Sarria Foundation hosted a Pop Up museum in Palm Springs, CA from October 11, 2022 to December 15, 2022 at the historic Welwood Murray Library building, 100 S Palm Canyon, Palm Springs, CA 92262. We thank the City of Palm Springs and Mayor Lisa Middleton for working with us to make this a reality for Jose’s 100th Jubilee birthday celebration.

The two month long celebration of Jose included displays of Jose’s personal items, including dozens never displayed before. In addition to the museum, we hosted the Jose Sarria Film Festival, a gala 100th Jubilee Birthday celebration on Sunday, December 11 and on Monday, December 12 Jose was inducted into the the Palm Springs Walk of Stars!
The Jose Sarria Film Fest included screenings of the films Nelly Queen: The Life & Times of Jose Sarria, 50 Years of Fabulous and Queen of the Capital. We hosted lectures on Jose Sarria followed by Q/A sessions and so much more.
